2008 All-In Charles Vineyard Pinot Noir

This wine is a combination of all four estate Pinot Noir clones: 114, 115, 777 and Pommard 05.

It was fermented with wild yeast and wild ML strains, with approximately 30% whole clusters included in the fermentation. Bigger in style than the 2007, this All-In was aged in 60% new French oak barrels.

The 2008 vintage was an unusual one all across the North Coast. Severe frosts caused an average of 40% crop loss, followed by summer wildfires all around the state. Because of the frosts, we only produced a few hundred cases of this wine.

The 2008 All-In displays the cherry and raspberry fruit typical of our vineyard, along with some of the smoky, savory undertones of the vintage. This wine, like the 2008 Zero New Oak, is a perfect pairing with all things formerly considered taboo and off-limits for Pinot Noir: Cambozola or other blue cheeses, steak, BBQ, teryaki, and more make this wine taste sweet and lucious. We've truly enjoyed playing with food pairings for the 2008 Pinots, and we hope you do too.
