This mixed case includes 6 bottles of the 2008 Zero New Oak Pinot Noir and 5 bottles of the 2008 All-In Pinot Noir, with one very large bottle of Pappy's BBQ Marinade and Sauce - all for $10 per bottle!
We've discovered that the 2008 Pinot Noirs are amazing with foods we normally wouldn't think to pair with Pinot. One of our favorite meals so far consisted of marinated tri-tip sandwiches on garlic bread, with bacon-wrapped potatoes and a baby greens and Gorgonzola cheese salad. These wines stand up to steak, smoked salmon, teryaki and anything with a sprinkling of Alder-smoked sea salt. It's been a tough job for our family to drink and eat that much, but I guess discovering new food and wine pairings is all part of the job!
Why the BBQ sauce? Foursight Winemaker Joe Webb loves to grill, and he grew up eating Pappy's brand sauces and dry rubs. Available primarily in the Central Valley of California, Pappy's BBQ sauce has enough sugar and acid to make a lovely pairing with Pinot, and the included bottle is enough for about four tri-tips! So invite some friends over and have a party, because all the wine and food will likely be gone before it's over!
